Feature Event: Book Swap (additional events below)
When: Tuesday to Thursday (January 28 – 30, 2025)
Where: In the School Library
Deadline for Book Donations: At drop-off on Monday
Literacy Week at Brantford returns from January 27 to 31, and our Literacy Committee has planned some page-turning activities for our students. Kicking off the literal fun is the beloved Book Swap happening Tue to Thu in the library. Students who have contributed to the Book Swap will have the opportunity to choose one book during their division’s scheduled time (different from their regular library time). If students donate more than one book and wish to select additional books, they may return to the library on Thursday after recess, between the school-wide DEAR (Drop Everything And Read) session and lunch, to make their extra selections, up to a max of five books.
For example, if a student donates one book, they can choose one; donate two, they can choose two; and so on, up to a maximum of five selections, even if they donate more than five.
Here are some important guidelines to keep in mind when selecting books to donate for the Book Swap:
- Books must be appropriate for Preschool to Grade 7 (chapter books for older students are especially appreciated)
- Books must be in gently used condition: cover intact, no rips, tears, writing, or water damage
- No colouring, activity, or sticker books
- Books must be in English or French
- Students may bring as many books as they wish
We can’t wait to turn the page on a full week of fun:
